Booking the Songs: Crusade of Tears

This is where I share a song that has been mentioned in one of my reading books. Sometimes it will be a real song, other times a fictional one. I will also include a video where possible.

From Crusader of Tears by C.D. Baker

Schonster Herr Jesu / the Crusader's Hymn:

Fairest Lord Jesus,
Ruler of all nature,
Son of God and Son of Man.
Thee will I cherish,
Thee will I honor,
Thou, my soul's glory, joy and crown.

Fair are the meadows,
Fair are the woodlands,
Robed in the blooming garb of spring:
Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer,
Who makes the woeful heart to sing.

Fair is the sunshine,
Fair is the moonlight,
And all the twinkling, starry host:
Jesus shines brighter,
Jesus shines purer
Than all the angels heav'n can boast.

Beautiful Savior.
Lord of all nations.
Son of God and Son of Man.
Glory and honor,
Praise, adoration,
Now and forevermore by Thine.

"Pieter squeezed his eyes closed in desperate prayer but his pleadings had barely left his lips when, as much to his own surprise as to others', he began singing. There was no reason for such a thing, no known purpose whatever, but his raspy voice had become suddenly clear and miraculously resonant, and he crooned the children's favouite hymn with the vigour of a man half his age."
